DxO is at it again and this time they are testing the recently introduced Tokina 14-20mm f/2.0. We fell in love with this lens the moment we received a production sample at the Tokina office. It is Super bright and incredibly sharp for an f/2.0 wide-angle zoom lens and to say we were impressed is an understatement, but of course we are biased.
So we were thrilled to have an unbiased opinion validate our feelings. If you are not familiar with DxO, their tests are uber comprehensive, and they test against similar competitive lenses on multiple camera bodies. This lets you see how the lens stacks up on the camera you own too. Here is a few quotes from the DxO review:
“Tokina’s 14-20mm f/2 wide-angle zoom is the highest-scoring wide-angle zoom tested on the EOS 760D (Rebel T6S). It offers good image quality, with better control of chromatic aberration and improved sharpness at the wider aperture settings. The super bright f/2 maximum aperture is superior for creative background bokeh effects and scored high on the Canon APS-C wide-angle zoom. The 14-20mm f/2 is an excellent addition to the Tokina line.”
